Medical Imaging of Fredericksburg Acquires Powerful 3T MRI System

Fredericksburg, VA, April 1, 2011 – As part of its ongoing commitment to providing state-of-the-art
and quality patient care, Medical Imaging of Fredericksburg (MIF) has added a new 3T MRI (Magnetic
Resonance Imaging) system, MIF officials announced today.

MRI is a non-invasive procedure used to visualize the structure and function of the body, relying on a
powerful magnetic field to produce detailed images of the body in any plane. The new 3T MRI system
offers substantial benefits for patients at MIF in need of an MRI, including increased comfort, reduced
exam times, and less need for rescanning due to patient movement.

The new powerful 3.0T magnet delivers strong whole-body gradients, resulting in fast and highly
accurate reproducible scans in high definition, providing physicians the ability to see smaller structures.
This powerful technology has software technology called "Propeller" that allows the MRI system to
correct imperfections of the scans caused by subtle patient movement.

These technological developments, along with a comprehensive application suite designed for specific
clinical areas, ensure the new 3T system delivers outstanding images in body, breast, musculoskeletal,
neurological, vascular, cardiac and pediatric imaging.
