Medical Imaging of Fredericksburg Celebrates 25 Years

On December 6, 1986, Medical Imaging of Fredericksburg opened their doors at 2216 Princess Anne Street.  This original location held one x-ray room, four fluoroscopy rooms and one ultrasound. Four technologists, Terri Shipe, Marty Gray, Carol Pitts, Barbara Ganoe and one radiologist, Dr. Thomas Medsker, made up the staff of five. With time, they were able to offer ultrasound, mammography, bone densitometry and CT Scans.  

In April 1998, Medical Imaging of Fredericksburg opened the Imaging Center for Women, a convenient “all in one” imaging location for women on the Mary Washington Hospital campus, and mammography screening was moved to this location.  In 2001, Medical Imaging of Fredericksburg left the Princess Anne Street office and moved to their current location on the Mary Washington Hospital Campus.  As business grew, a third facility was opened at Lee’s Hill in 2006 followed by another facility in North Stafford in 2007.

Four facilities and twenty five years later, Medical Imaging of Fredericksburg is able to perform x-rays, fluoroscopy screenings, ultrasounds, CTs, MRIs, PET-CTs, joint injections and MRI breast biopsies for all of the Spotsylvania, Fredericksburg, Stafford and surrounding communities. Medical Imaging of Fredericksburg now has over 200 Associates, including 3 of the original technologists, Terry, Carol and Barbara.
