PET/CT Scan

Medical Imaging of Fredericksburg provides PET/CT exams with ACR and ICANL accreditation. PET/CT is the combination of PET (positron emission tomography) and CT (computed tomography) imaging techniques within a single machine. The individual scans, which are performed in one session, can be presented separately or as a single, overlapping image. These two images present different types of information about the human body. While PET shows metabolic or chemical activity in the body, CT shows the anatomical structure of the body.
